On the afternoon of September 11, 2011, the Nassau County Fire Commission hosted a memorial service to remember the 18 volunteer firefighters who as NYC first responders were killed at the World Trade Center ten years ago. The service, led by Lynbrook Ex-Chief Robert Cribbin, Chairman of the Nassau County Fire Commission, was held at the 9/11 Memorial in Eisenhower Park. Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano was also in attendance as were a large contingent of Nassau volunteers who came out to honor the memory of their fallen brothers.
