Medical Company Aids Accident Victim

Story and Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan

On Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2009, the Lynbrook Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Company and the Extrication Team responded to a reported accident at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Lakeview Avenue.   LFD medics and firefighters  found three cars in a row on Ocean Avenue stopped at the traffic light heading northbound but with the first car having front end damage and the female driver needing medical attention.

Lynbrook police officers at the scene said that the accident allegedly occurred at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Peninsula Blvd and that the two cars behind the damaged vehicle had pursued the first car until that car finally stopped at the traffic light at Lakeview Avenue.   The two other cars had minor damage.  The driver of the damaged front car was transported to the hospital by 425A.   The Extrication Team assisted at the scene but no tools were needed.
